The Hidden Metaphors Within My FMP
The video to the right is me talking about the hidden meaning in my video. I go into detail talking why I chose certain shots, certain colours and actions. I felt that this project had the most amount of thought put into it. Because every single shot had a meaning behind it. An example of this is the person being apart of the background and as the paint covers him he slowly becomes more whole. I didn't want to do a narrative so I though I would get my story and meaning put by using psychical metaphors in my project.
Comparing Edit
The videos above are comparison video. They are my final major project without any effects. The video on the left is a version without any effects. Because I edited each piece of footage in different premier pro and I would then add the edited footage into the FMP edit. Because of this I could go back and takeaway the effects. I had to get the unedited raw footage and edit that together. The video to the right is a a comparison video showing the no effects footage besides the final product. This shows the level of importance of editing in my music video with the two pieces of work being the same footage but are extremely different and some shots are unrecognisable because of the amount of editing in this project.
Survey Results
I decided to do a survey on survey monkey about my final major project. I asked them what the audiences' first impressions of the video. I wanted to know what were people expecting going into this because of my previous work. So I asked them what they were expecting going into it. But because of my phrasing I got the responses for what were their opinions after the film. This is good because I can get the audiences onion on how good it was as a whole. Almost all of the responses are positive and while some are in more detail than others. But they all mention that they found it "good". This makes me feel confident going forward.
My second question for my survey was about the context in my music video such as images, editing techniques suit the music. I wanted to know if people thought they went well together so I did a multiple answer question so I can better measure the results. The results were very mixed but 7/8 people thought it was suited either somewhat or very suited. This makes me feel confident going forward but shows that I still have a lot of room for improvement.
During question 3 of my survey I ask the reader "How could I improve it". I felt extremely happy and confident with my music video but I can understand that it won't be perfect and there will be room for improvement but I couldn't find it for myself so I decided to ask the audience what I could do better. One of the complaints was that I should cut it down. Which is the reason I use multiple effects so that it is different footage that is cut up with effects. This make make a 5 second clip more interesting but I agree I could cut out a number of footage. Especially because of the amount of space footage I had for cutaways and filler material.
During question 4 for my video I asked the viewer "what did you like? and why?". The reasoning I asked this was very similar to the question before. Even though I felt confident about what I was doing and even though I knew I had room for improvement. I still wanted to know what people liked about the video. While I was editing I felt that I was adding too many effects and that it wouldn't be beneficial to my project. But after looking at the results of my survey. The majority of people giving me feedback was that they preferred the amount of effects and that editing was one of the videos strong suits.

I was quite surprised during this question. During question 5 I asked the audience If the video made them more interested in listened to more from the artists. I was quite surprised that a number of people said no. Because of the phrasing to the video I don't know if it's the video making people less likely to watch the video or if it's because of peoples personal opinions and taste to do with music. However because of my spelling during this question I can understand that people could easily get confused.
Because my music video uses colour theory and editing effects to create emotions. I wanted to know if the audience felt the emotions I was intending them to of felt. So I asked the audience "How does it make you feel". The response for this question weren't as in detail as I was expecting. Because it was a break up song the emotions I wanted the audience to feel was despair and then clarity. But people didn't know how to answer this question so i got a number of one worded answers and emojis. While this didn't do what I was expecting it still shows the audience had a positive experience. While this survey did give me good feedback I could've put it more areas such as in my YouTube description to get a wider range of responses.
Public Feedback
After I posted the Video of my Final major project on YouTube I had a number of comments saying how they liked it but never really going into much detail. Until the channel "Tikikiti" commented on my video. They mentioned that their judges like the editing, cinematography and creativity. They also then rated my music video top 5 of the week and then put my video into their top 5 of the week playlist. Promoting my music video. This is good because I have no ties to these people but they've found my music video on YouTube and showed me what they liked about it and why. This makes me feel confident going forward because it shows that people like the look and feel of my music video.
The image to the right is the losers review of my music video. I got their feedback on how they liked and their thoughts on the music video. However the feedback he gave me was that he didn't like the picture frame. Which I understand because the picture frame is sometimes unrecognisable. However I am unsure how to fix this issue with the amount of footage I have. However they told me that they liked the footage and asked me about publishing it.

Peer Production
Our class (medial level 3 film and TV) had the opportunity to swap work with the graphic design year 2 students. We then had to mark each others work using the grading matrix. This is a good way of getting none bias feedback. The person who marked my work didn't give me a grade below merit. Because I'm only studying as year 1 I am only being marked on the first four criteria. They marked me as distinction in "context" and "problem solving". They didn't give me any comments or feedback on these topics however on research and planning and production they marked me as a merit. They didn't give me much in the way of feedback. However they mentioned for research that I should look into multiple topics of research. So I talked about minimalism other experimental music video along with a number of other topics to do with my video. They also mentioned for planing and production that I should add more to it so I extended them with more in depth analysis
Public Feedback
We used VR chat to make a cinema like experience and people from all across the world and come up to us and watch our video and interact with us. We struggled to get it set up at first however we quickly learned the correct and easiest way to do so. We split it up so we did it once before lunch and after lunch to make it easier to get a range of onions and peoples feedback along with give us a break in between so we can focus on what question we would like to ask. The first person who came in to watch my video was Canadian, this shows the range of viewers we are getting feedback from. He mentioned I should of filmed at a higher quality such as 4k. We also mentioned how the video didn't have a colour scheme and went from clip to clip. I agree with this statement. I tried to build up colour throughout my video to create an emotional impact however because of the range of imagery I was using during the video the colours also ranging so heavily can become confusing or unappealing quickly. The second person I was talking to gave me more details about what he didn't like as much in the video. He mentioned that the colour scheme was too random going from a large range of colours and it not suiting. This was the second complainant I had about the colour which shows even though I used the colours to make the audience feel the same emotions as a break up such as using blue for a sadder emotion and red to show anger, two emotions heavily tied to a break up but this must've of been as effective as I originally thought. They also mentioned that they thought the video was very predictable. I did go back to the head and the word oblivion throughout the video because it ties the video together and make it less like a number of clips edited together and more like a music video but this must've made a new problem.
We decided to get feedback online about our final major. The peoples feedback we will be getting will be unbiased because they don't know who we are or anything about us. So they can only judge the video on the content given. This type of feedback is useful so that in the future you can use the skills you've learned and the criticism you now know to create work better than your previous.
