Task 2

Proposal

The image to the left is the proposal file for my final major project. During this project I talked about my skills that I want to take advantage of during this project. An example of skills I want to use during this project are mostly editing skills such as effective cuts, layering, inverts, colour balance, black and white and adjustment layers. These skills I believe can be used to improve my work and improve the quality of the video. Then I talked about how I am going to make the video, what concepts I want to use within it, how I will pull it off, why I think it will be effective, I also talk about colour theory and what emotions I want the audience to feel while they listen to the song. I talked about how I will be testing the footage, such as by poring paint over a mannequin head instead of a human head to test the footage to make sure it works I want it to and to also test the effects to make sure they look the way I want them to. I also talked about my evaluation and went into detail about how I will be using Gibbs reflective analysis to evaluate my work and what I will most likely be talking about while I'm evaluating my work. I also talked about pier evaluation and how In will be doing that and why it is important to get feedback on your work. I also talked about a rough schedule for my work and when I will be doing film, pre-production, research, test shooting, editing and evaluating but this isn't a final version of the schedule so things will most likely change especially when it comes to re-shoots. I then gave links to my inspirations and what I am basing my work on.

The image to the left is my power point documentation about my pitch that I will be doing with my lecturer Julian either on the 20th of the third or the 21st. I wrote a number of notes in a power point document. I did this because when I talk to Julian during the pitch I can go into detail talking about these key point. I wrote about my original idea and why I decided not to go along with this idea as well as what my current concept is and how I will be pulling it off and how I think it will impact the video. I also wrote other notes about minimalism, colour theory, mise en scene and other topics I want to talk about. I only write them so I can go into further detail when I am being interviewed. I also talked about other concepts that I am planning to use for my music video and links to what has inspired me. I have a page of links so I won't have to talk too much and I can show him what I am imaging rather than explaining. I think this will be beautification because I struggle when it comes to explaining my ideas without any context or anything else to help me explain so if I have links to work I am trying to replicate think it'll be easier for em and him to explain.

Pitch

The video to the left is the pitch for my final major project. During this interview I talked to Julian about my final major project and what I was hoping to create. I'm planning on creating a music video for the artists the Losers. I talk in this interview about my plans for the music video such as inspiration, research and the editing effects I want to use within my video. Such as ultra keying out green paint and then using the alpha channel and the inverting the footage, either normally or with colours such as inverted red, blue and green. I felt confident how the interview went and I felt that I've gotten everything I want across that I want the examiner to hear and see.
