Task 4
The video to the right of this text is a clip from our music video that I thought was worth talking about. The original footage was accidental. We left the camera rolling as I fell onto the floor after an earlier shot where I had to kneel down but I fell down eventually and the footage of me laying down on to the floor but I felt like the colours of the film rapidly changing colours suits this part of the video. Because the music starts to get deeper and slower and it suits the more layed back feel of this clip. It also has the elements of the surreal effects that come with the use of the colour balance effects. Its also a nice change of paste when it is with the rest of the music video is feels like a mice change of paste especially compared to all the dance movements and editing techniques used through out it feels more relaxed.
The video to the right of this text. Is a clip from our music video that I am very proud of. The footage is where another glow stickman shoots and kills another glow stick man. We did this by layering a number of different videos on top of each other. We filmed someone falling down and dying. We also filmed someone running across the studio with a glow stick to get the gun shot. We also filmed someone shooting a gun but the way we made the gun was by painting my hand with neon paint and shined a uv light onto it when we wanted the gun shot to happen. We then layered them onto each other and the final result is one which I'm really happy with it.
The video to the left is a clip from our music video. The video is of the rapper glow stick man signing to the music video. During the video we use many different techniques to make it interesting. We used a glitch effect to make it interesting and to mask the cuts as best as we could. The glitch effect was layered on top of the original video and the we ultra keyed out the green background so that the glitch effect will be on top of everything. We also added other effects such as invert to make the background white and all the other glow sticks different colours but the time it would be shown on screen was only a few seconds. The same would be shown with black and white. We also had colour balance so that the colours of the glow sticks would rapidly change. We used these techniques through out the video to make it feel more surreal.
The video to the left of this text is a clip from our music video. The video shown is the screen smashing into a million pieces with a white background behind it with a inverted stick man behind the shattered screen. We did this within after effects because if we used a green screen glass break it wouldn't have looked the same but because the effect we wanted couldn't be done within reverse and look the way we wanted it to look. We also added in the sound effect by finding the sound effect on youtube and then added it into the footage. We also did have a problem with this piece of footage however and that is evcause it corupted but we dont know why (it may be because of the use of after effects and the fact not all files were localised) it corrupted but lucky enough we exported this video clip before hand and we added it back in as a normal video clip.
I asked within the survey in the next question if watching the video makes the viewer want to listen to more from the artists. the results to this question I believe are bias because it leads more to people not wanting to listen to more of the music but a number of people did say yes. The final question were I asked if the video looked professional to understand the quality of the video I made. The results our very positive and this makes me feel more confident that the quality of my film is up to where I wanted it to be.
The picture to the left of this text is the results of our survey. Within the first question I asked the people who are taking the survey what was their first impressions of the music video. The results of this are all over the place some this shows that people were confused at first to of what they were watching. The second question was if the concept was suited to the genre. These results are quite random as well some this backs up the point about the glow sticks confusing people with them within a rap video. the next question was was how could we improve and it was a next box you could write in. Most of the question I write about it within my evaluation, such as how the actor should have moved more while filming. I asked how well the point gets acrossed. People said mostly positive so even if we take out all the people being bias it still will be very positive.
