Proof of contact with professional
In order to find a professional who I get in contact with. I had to create a linked in account. Linkedin is a social platform where you can find where to do with media and message and follow others who are within the creative industry. The reason I message him on Facebook is the fact you have to be connected to someone or be connected to their contact in order to message them. So I had to message him on Facebook in order to get a reply but I found him and his work on Linkedin.
The Professional I got in contact with is Mike Connaris and I started off my messaging him about why I am messaging, such as to find out how he got into the industry and if their is any advice he could offer me to get into the industry or to get further within the industry. I waited a few days in order to get a reply. He mostly gave me advice to get in contact with animation. Such as telling me to get in contact with the people who created the hedgehog advert which is how I found him. He told me to get in contact with 100 people but out of that only 5 people will get back to you. Which he means by this in getting in contact with as many professionals as possible because only a few people will get back. But he did mention you only need one good reply in order for it to be positive.

I got in contact with a client to get experience with working. I approached them on soundcloud after finding their account and hearing about their music. I talked to them about if they were interested in me making them a music video. They asked me if I had a show reel for them to look at but I am not happy with my current show reel and am unhappy with how I have edited. So I gave him links to y work I am most happy with and my current music video test. He was happy with this and now has access to my YouTube and can see any of my latest work. He has agreed for me to make the music video and I have chosen the song which is Oblivion and I will start to work on the video. Through the holidays and after in order to finish, I was not given a time limit or any instructions. I will be going for a concept/ performance based music video. The idea for it so far is showing someone in isolation because of the lack of friends they have while also showing a literal and metaphorical battle with his inner demons but they will be slowly going when they make new friends.

This is how a famous director got into the industry
These are two videos about how my favourite director Tim Burton got into the industry and why and how he got into film. The video one the right is the full length video while the one on the left is a shorter cut down version. By looking into this I can learn from these and look into more detail about how he did get into the industry so I can learn how to do it myself.
Practice of Interviews
During the second part of the video I was practicing an interview within a job atmosphere. I was nervous while doing these interviews which is why I struggle with my words as much as I did and kept repeating words such as "like". I felt I answered the questions with confidence and used as many technical terms to let the interviewer know my knowledge about the situation. He did mention about that I went on about taking charge and that's why he tried to steer the conversation to how well do I take advice and being not in charge. Because when you first get into the industry it is unlikely I'll be in charge so I should mention that I work well with others, take orders well and advice.
This is a test of me being in interview situations. The first few questions was me being interviewed for Uni. The interviewer was Andy and he asked me questions suited to university and asked me questions they would in an university interview. There are points of improvements I can do better. For an example within the first interview for Uni I was very nervous and struggled with my words. In the beginning of the interview I mentioned that I wanted to be a script writer but I didn't have the grades in English to do it. Andy mentioned after the interview ended that I shouldn't have talked down about myself, mentioning facts such as I wanted to study a topic but I was unable to because of my grades is not what an interviewer wants to hear. During the Uni questions near the end he asked me awkward questions such as why do you want to go here and am I applying to other universities. I was told they do this to find out how determined you are about going to this university.
